This is an example of a completed maternity session with a family of three that was expecting a new baby boy. We set up in the comfort of their own basement, and took about 2 hours making sure we got everything she wanted. This is a perfect example of how solid contrasting colors make great, classic looking portraits.
First Half of the Session
We took pictures of the whole family together and in groupings showing their support and love for this new member that was on his way.
Second Half of the Session
We captured the special bond that only a mom has with her baby during pregnancy and tried several different poses and outfits for variety.

Baby Steps ~ The MilestonesNewborn to 3 Months ~ limited movements, don't see colors or very far but notice bright lights, hear higher pitches, need to eat often and get fussy quickly, need head support, don't smile much but are more somber, enjoy warmth and being bundled3 to 6 Months ~ more alert and responsive, smile when prompted, holding head up well on their own, start doing well on tummy and rolling over, starting to see primary colors (often yellow first)6 to 9 Months ~ learn to sit on their own and eventually crawl, very expressive, explore everything by touching and putting things in their mouth, learn things by imitation9 Months to 1 Year ~ pull themselves to standing and eventually walk around 12-15 months, move quickly and have short attention spans, recognize faces and names very well, forming words and developing strong personalities
